We said: We are so excited to retire and live the lives we have always dreamed of. However, we have realized that in order for that to happen it is incredibly important for us to take care of ourselves. If we are able to retire financially but we are in poor health, we won’t be able to enjoy it anyway. Not to mention, the cost of medical bills due to poor health could wipe out our savings and ruin our plans (even with our great insurance). We can’t afford to NOT be healthy.
Because of this, we have made some life changes including eating healthy on a regular basis (no crash diets) and exercising every day (and picking right back up if we miss one). The best part about this is not only do we feel better, but our kids are eating better and being more active too. It is our job to teach them how to be healthy and we love seeing them adapt this lifestyle so young.
We are not experts in this arena, so we enlisted the help of one! She has helped us identify workout programs and healthy eating plans that fit our lifestyle, and it has been so rewarding. If you want to feel better, look better, improve your family’s health and save on medical bills, she’s your girl. So we’d like to share the wealth and turn the floor over to Rachael Snyder, Beachbody coach and fitness expert.
Rachael said: Thanks guys! I wouldn’t call myself an expert by any means, but I am very passionate about helping others find a healthy lifestyle that is available when they make the commitment. The Beachbody motto is DECIDE, COMMIT, and SUCCEED. Just like in finances, these are key actions that are required in order to hit your goals. You have to make the mental DECISION that you are tired of giving up on fad diets or crash diets and you realize being healthy will take COMMITMENT but you are willing to put in the effort. Only then will you actually SUCCEED for the future.
Now, let’s break this down a bit. What does it take to make this a permanent decision? For some, it is accepting that you have been wishy-washy with your eating and exercise habits. You are tired of the way your life is going in regards to your health and well-being and want to make a change, but where do you start? This is where I step in. I want to help direct these people to a program that they actually enjoy and can see results in just 30 days. It is overwhelming to step into a gym with so many machines and weights… What do they all do anyways? Beachbody has over 25 at home programs that have been used by millions to end the trend of obesity. These programs are great for working out at home, on vacation, on your lunch break or anywhere your life takes you! You do not need a gym or a gym membership!
Next, I like to talk with individuals to see what they enjoy; for example, dancing, lifting, jumping, cardio, yoga, what activities do they find joy in? Exercise does not need to be a chore. It should be something you look forward to, something you cannot go without! I also want to hone in on problem areas in their lives. This could be problems in their eating habits or portion control or specific places on their body like belly fat that they have trouble getting rid of. Once we work through these details I can help them find a program that they actually enjoy and can find success with.
This all sounds great, but a huge question is how much does it cost? I have to remind others that spending a little money now will save them money later. Just as L & S pointed out, would you prefer to spend money on a workout program to benefit your life, or would you prefer to spend money on medication to help with high blood pressure, sleep apnea, thyroid imbalances, or high cholesterol? I would say taking care of your life now so you can enjoy life later sounds much more appealing to me. With that, Beachbody is very affordable. These workouts range from $40 to $120. Each comes with various workout discs (6-8 workouts) to help target specific areas of your body (Abs, Legs, arms, cardio, etc…). They then design a calendar to help you work these areas only certain days preventing fatigue. For example, many women would spend more time on abs and cardio than strength building. However, it’s so important to build your muscles in order to burn more fat and to help improve your stamina during a cardio day! Each program also comes with an eating guide to show you healthy ways to prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks!
My final comment about being successful is finding support. This is a key ingredient in making a life change. When you have someone or a group of people checking in on you daily your chance of sticking with your program increases greatly. I run 30-day accountability groups for just this reason. I want to see everyone become successful. I want women to fit back into their pre-pregnancy pants and for men to tighten the loops on their belts. I want others to learn to eat healthy and dump the junk that is slowing their lives down. I want parents to be active with their kids or help train their kids for sports! Let’s live life not just go through life. If you do not invest in yourself now you will not be able to invest into anything!
